Penguin’s Swim School FAQ
Where is the Marlton location located?
The Marlton location is located off of Main Street in Marlton. Before your lesson, you will receive the exact address and instructions on where to park!
What is your policy on cancellations?
If a client cancels an appointment with over 48 hours notice, there will be no fee.
If a client cancels within 48 hours of an appointment, there will be no refund.
In the event of a no call, no show, the full amount of the lesson will be owed.
Exceptions can be made due to illness, injury, or personal matters.
Our instructors depend on their daily assigned lessons, as they are compensated hourly. Failing to attend a lesson not only disrupts their schedule but also incurs expenses for travel time and gas. If you cancel within 48 hours of the lesson, we are unable to fill that spot with another student, resulting in a wasted time slot.
What happens if the weather is bad?
We understand that unpredictable weather conditions can affect plans. Therefore, we do not impose a cancellation fee for weather-related circumstances.*
Non-swimmable weather, such as rain and/or thunder and lightning, constitutes grounds for cancellation. However, a cloudy day does not warrant cancellation.
If a lesson needs to be canceled due to weather, our instructors will make every effort to reschedule it, or we will refund.
Is there a minimum number of lessons that need to be scheduled?
No! You can schedule as many or as few lessons as you would like. We recommend booking lessons in advance, since our schedules fill up quickly.
Do you offer lesson packages or discounts?
Yes! We offer discounted package pricing for lessons scheduled in advance:
4 lessons: 5% off
8 lessons: 10% off
12 lessons: 12% off
Package discounts apply to lessons booked together in advance.
Can I choose my instructor?
All of our instructors undergo the same rigorous training and follow the same curriculum, ensuring consistency across the board. Instructor assignments are based on availability, scheduling, and travel capabilities to ensure the best match for your lesson times.
What do I need to bring or have for the lesson(s)?
We supply everything needed for the lesson except for goggles, a swimsuit, and a towel.
My instructor is on vacation for a week. Do I have to skip that week?
If you would like to continue lessons while your instructor is unavailable, please contact Kait and we will do our best to match you with a substitute instructor. Substitutes are subject to availability.
How do you take payment?
When you book on Marketbox, you will be prompted to pay via Stripe. If you would like to give your instructor a tip, you are welcome to do so via Penguin’s Swim School Venmo, or cash to them.
Do I need to fill out forms before lessons begin?
Yes. Before participating in lessons, a parent or guardian must complete and sign our participation agreement, waiver, and policy acknowledgment forms.
What if there is a medical emergency during a lesson?
In the event of a medical emergency, Penguin’s Swim School may take whatever actions are deemed necessary, including transport to medical service providers. Parents/guardians assume responsibility for any associated costs, as outlined in our participation agreement.
What happens if we arrive late?
Our instructors are typically scheduled with back-to-back lessons, so lessons must begin and end at the scheduled time. If you arrive late or come outside late, the lesson can only last for the remaining allotted time.
